FAQ
What Causes Cracked Skin?
- Frequent hand washing – Often healthcare workers or similar jobs that requires frequent hand washing.
- Aging – I didn’t start to have cracked skin until after I turned 40.
- Dry climates – Living in the desert or dry/cold winters.
- Vocational exposure – harsh cleaning chemicals, working outside.
What is Greg's Skin Repair?
- It’s a custom-formulated skin protectant adhesive. The primary ingredient is a skin-safe, hypoallergenic cyanoacrylate, which is super glue. Super glue is a great adhesive and is used in place of stitches in many emergency rooms. Unfortunately, it’s not flexible enough to work well on skin.
- When creating our product, we found that some glue that’s too flexible; doesn’t hold skin cracks closed and it allows too much movement of the crack, which hurts.
- Straight super glue has the strength needed but, because they are so rigid, they peel up around the edges like an old scab. This peeling can get caught on clothing or, folks like me pick at, which can make the skin crack worse.
- Our special formulation is malleable and strong. It will wear away over time but rarely peels up.
Is Greg's Skin Repair Safe and Effective
Yes! Cyanoacrylates
are used widely for tissue adhesion in emergency rooms and surgery
centers. Additionally, we underwent
extensive dermatologist testing and found no adverse patient reactions or
sensitivities to Greg’s Skin Repair.
How Do I Use It?
1. Apply THIN coat on the crack.
2. Squeeze skin rack closed for 40-60 seconds.
3. After 1st coat is dry, apply a 2nd thin coat.
4. Add a coat every 24-48 hours or whenever the crack feels less protected.
What Can I do to prevent skin cracks
Lotion and balms are best for preventing skin cracks. For people
who live in dry climates, who work outside or wash their hands frequently (e.g.
healthcare workers), frequent lotion use may not be enough. That’s why Greg’s
Skin Repair exists.
